Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Revenue Authority (KPRA) held a ceremony to honour the top contributing taxpayers of the financial year 2021–22 for their contribution towards provincial revenue, news sources reported on December 30.

In a ceremony held in the provincial capital, Finance Minister Taimur Khan Jhagra awarded souvenirs to 51 taxpayers from 10 sectors. Moreover, the top five withholding tax agents were awarded for their revenue contribution and tax compliance. Minister Jhagra, on the occasion, appreciated the taxpayers and expressed hope that the authority’s collection would reach PKR 40 billion during the current tax year of 2022-23. He said that the province’s development was closely tied to tax collection as the revenue collected is invested back into the public for the provision of facilities.

KPRA Director General Mohammad Kabir Afridi thanked the award winners and the authority’s team. He congratulated the taxpayers for their efforts and acknowledged their contribution to the development of the province.
