Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Revenue Authority (KPRA) has announced that it has accumulated PKR 21.1 billion in eight months of the ongoing fiscal year (FY 2021-22), according to a news story published on Friday (March 25).

Chief Minister (CM) Mahmood Khan chaired the 10th meeting of the policymaking council of KPRA, in which, the authority shared the details of revenue collection. As per the details, the total revenue collection of KPRA in the fiscal year 2018-19 (FY 2018-19) was PKR 10.4 billion, while for FY 2019-20, it was PKR 17.1 billion. For FY 2020-2021, the authority collected PKR 21 billion. The authority expects to reach PKR 30 billion in revenue collection by the end of the financial year.
Moreover, the attendees were informed that the authority has also improved the ratio of filing and tax registration. The authority briefed that several digital reforms were launched to facilitate taxpayers such as point of sale system and restaurant information management system.

Reportedly, the meeting was notified that work was ongoing on new legislation and legal reforms in order to strengthen KPRA. It was disclosed that several laws will be ratified including Infrastructure Development Act and Sale Tax on Services Act.
