Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Technology Board (KPITB) and the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to promote Information and Communication Technology (ICT) initiatives in the province, according to a news report published on December 22.

KP Chief Minister Mahmood Khan attended the signing ceremony as chief guest and reiterated that the promotion of IT sector was one of the top priorities of the provincial government. He also stated that efforts were being made to extend maximum facilitation and employment opportunities to the youth.

As per the MoU, both firms will work together to establish Software Technology Parks (STPs) in various districts of the province. In the initial phase of this collaborative effort, STPs will be established in nine districts including Chitral, Dera Ismail Khan, Mardan, Mansehra, Kohat, Karak, Swat and South Waziristan.
