Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KPCCI) Acting President Shahid Hussain has urged the government to simplify export procedures and regulations to boost the export of locally manufactured products to other Asian countries — a news source reported.

Hussain was speaking during a seminar on ‘foreign exchange operations and State Bank online portal’ at the Chamber House. The event was organised by KPCCI and the State Bank of Pakistan. During the session, the acting president explained that traders and exporters face difficulties due to complicated regulations and lengthy procedures which affect the trade with Afghanistan and Central Asian States.
At the same time, he appreciated the government’s initiative for ease of doing business. He added that businesses within the province had been adversely affected by the security situation, so it was imperative that ease of doing business should be improved.

The KPCCI president also highlighted the fact that due to its location, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had the potential to change the dynamics of the country’s trade with central Asian countries, and that this opportunity needed to be utilised.
