Peshawar: The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has announced its decision to launch an ‘Apna Rozgar Scheme’ and a housing project in all divisions of the province for religious minorities, according to a news source published on July 29.

The scheme will benefit both the women and youth in the province by providing them with livelihood opportunities. The information was revealed by the Special Assistant to the Chief Minister for Minority Affairs Wazirzda Kalash to the former members of the Peshawar district council from minorities.
The chief minister’s aide said in its initial phase the housing projects will be introduced in Mardan, Hazara, Kohat and Peshawar divisions. Meanwhile, the Apna Rozgar Scheme would be introduced for the minorities throughout the province, including the tribal districts. To this effect, PKR 50 million has been allocated for the settled districts and PKR 100 million have been allocated for the tribal districts, he added.

Kalash said that the government is taking concrete steps for the prosperity and development of the minority segments. He said that the PC-1 of the Annual Development Programme (ADP) schemes for minorities would be prepared and approved by September 2021.
