Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Economic Zones Development and Management Company’s (KPEZDMC) Board of Directors (BoD) approved on Wednesday the launching of four new economic zones in the province, according to news sources.

In the 36th meeting of the KPEZDMC , chaired by Secretary Industries KP Aamir Latif, the newly approved zones – to be set up in Chitral, Ghazi, Jalozai and Nowshera – are said to become a step forward in the industrialisation of KP.
As per the details, the Ghazi Economic Zone will be developed over an area of 89.9 acres and the Jalozai Economic Zone will be spread on an area of 257.5 acres. Similarly, the Nowshera Economic Zone Extension will cover 76.25 acres and the Chitral Economic Zone will be constructed on 40 acres of land.

Moreover, the uplift work on these economic zones will be formally launched as soon as possible because the KPEZDMC already has possession of the proposed lands. These zones will ensure investments of billions besides creating job opportunities of over 250,000 people.
