An official handout stated that the solarisation of approximately 23,000 public buildings across the province has been planned. These include government offices, universities, colleges, hospitals, prisons, police stations, and tube wells.
During the meeting, CM Gandapur instructed the relevant departments to ensure that all preparations for the solar conversion of public infrastructure are completed within two months. He emphasized that the project must be executed efficiently and within a viable financial framework.
To carry out the project, the government has decided to engage energy services companies (ESCOs), which will also be responsible for installing solar-powered streetlights in divisional headquarters. The CM directed officials to develop a comprehensive financial model to support the solar transition in both public and private sectors.

Cabinet members, administrative secretaries, and senior government officials were present at the meeting, where the progress on the project was reviewed in detail. The initiative is part of the KP government’s broader strategy to reduce reliance on conventional energy sources, cut costs, and promote environmental sustainability across the province.
The solarisation project marks a significant move towards a greener future in KP, aiming to improve energy efficiency while setting a model for other provinces to follow.
