Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Mahmood Khan on Wednesday (November 24) approved the establishment of four Special Technology Zones (STZ)s in the province, news sources reported. The STZs will be established in Peshawar, Swat, Mardan and Haripur districts.

As per the details, Special Technology Zone Authority (STZA) Chairman Amir Hashmi met with the chief minister to discuss the modalities of the plan.
As per the details shared, a joint working group will be established composed of the relevant officials of the provincial government and STZA to implement this strategic plan. It was also agreed that the provincial government and STZA will collaborate in other areas of information technology (IT) as well to increase access to information, the internet and the knowledge economy.

Moreover, CM Mehmood said that the promotion of IT in the province will increase employment and sustainable growth keeping in the needs of youth and the future. He also mentioned that the government is taking steps to improve ease of doing business and facilitate investors through one window operations and digital portals such as the CM Business website.
