Peshawar: The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has released funds worth PKR 50 million for the supply of potable water to the residents of Balakot and its adjoining areas, according to a news report published today (September 10).

Advisor to Chief Minister on Population Ahmad Hussain Shah, while revealing this information, stated that PKR 50 million have been released for the two ‘tube well projects’ – through which many localities will be supplied with potable water. These tube wells will benefit the people of Achari, Balakot city, Bilyani, Garan Dehri, Mangli, Podian Bala, and various adjoining villages.

Meanwhile, the provincial government has also signed an agreement with a Turkish firm ‘Dolsar’ for its management consultant services for the construction of KP’s 300-megawatt (MW) Balakot hydropower project located on the Kunhar River in the Mansehra district.
