Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Minister for Finance Taimur Salim on Friday said that the Multi-Donor Trust Fund (MDTF) would help the provincial government to procure 20,000 face masks and 120 ventilators in order to combat the novel coronavirus spread, a news source reported.

As per the publication, the KP government and the World Bank are collaborating to curb the negative impact of the coronavirus pandemic.
In a related development, Khyber Medical University (KMU) has initiated a telemedicine project in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak.

The KMU initiative includes 50 specialists who will provide online consultations to patients and give prescriptions to these individuals from the remote, tribal districts of the province.

KP Governor Shah Farman launched the initiative.
Previously, the KP government had allocated PKR 1 billion to counter the COVID-19 pandemic. The KP government announced that the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) and the Ministry for Relief and Rehabilitation were planning to deal with the outbreak of the novel coronavirus.
