Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has pledged PKR 184 million for restoration and beautification of three historic places in the province – a news source reported.
Qissa Khawani Bazaar, Yadgaar Chowk and Khyber Bazaar will get a facelift under the restoration project. Recently, the project was handed over to the Peshawar Development Authority (PDA).

The PDA officials said they will carry out the restorative work, and install streetlights & pavements on selected footpaths.
The project is an attempt towards reviving Peshawar’s status as the city of flowers. Khan Tarakai,the minister for local government, will formally inaugurate the project next month.

PDA has also called on the business community and residents to lend their support to the project. According to the civic agency, the business community has been consulted in this regard. The future course of action will be prepared in-line with the wishes of all stakeholders.
