Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government will formulate a feasibility plan to renovate and restore historical sites in the old city of Peshawar including Qissa Khawani Bazaar, according to a news story published on Monday (February 28).

As per the details, Chief Minister (CM) Mahmood Khan has ordered the Peshawar Commissioner to devise a plan for the restoration of historical sites during a review meeting of development projects in the city. During the meeting, the chief minister reviewed several uplift projects including the Peshawar Revival Plan, Regi Model Town, development of new bus terminal, construction of the remaining portion of Ring Road, and New Peshawar City.
Moreover, the meeting was informed that the land acquisition process for the remaining section of Ring Road – from Warsak Road to Nasir Bagh – was completed. The revised PC-1 of the project was sent for approval to the Executive Committee on National Economic Council (ECNEC). The attendees were notified that the general bus stand was being shifted out of the city to resolve traffic problems. The construction work on the bus terminal on Northern Bypass was started and groundbreaking will be held soon.

Reportedly, the work on Hazar Khawani Park has been completed and will be open to the public soon. The officials also disclosed that significant progress was being made on New Peshawar City – a mega housing scheme – as the land acquisition process is underway on the land sharing formula. The work on Hazar Khawani Park was completed and will soon be open to the public.
CM Khan ordered the concerned authorities to expedite the implementation of the Peshawar Revival Plan and traffic management plan to address the traffic problems in the city.
