Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) has approved 46 development projects across multiple sectors, including the rehabilitation of key roads in Charsadda.
The approval was granted during the 13th PDWP meeting, chaired by Additional Chief Secretary Planning and Development Ikramullah Khan. The meeting, held on Monday, was attended by PDWP members and officials from relevant departments.
The approved projects span sectors such as agriculture, health, education, infrastructure, tourism, forestry, science and technology, and information technology. Among them, the rehabilitation of roads in Charsadda has been highlighted as a critical initiative aimed at improving connectivity and transportation in the region.
Key infrastructure projects also include the rehabilitation of the Palai Dam Canal System, the Tangi Irrigation Scheme, and distribution systems for the left and right bank canals of Mohmand Dam. Additionally, feasibility studies were approved for irrigation projects in Dera Ismail Khan.
In the education sector, the PDWP sanctioned upgrades for government colleges, the construction of additional classrooms, and recruitment of teachers in merged districts. Meanwhile, the health sector saw approvals for revamping district hospitals and enhancing emergency care facilities.
The meeting also approved projects related to environmental sustainability, human rights initiatives, and judicial infrastructure development.
The KP government has emphasized its commitment to timely completion and effective implementation of these projects to boost socio-economic development in the province.
