Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government on Tuesday decided to participate in Dubai International Expo to attract foreign investment and promote a positive image of the province, according to news sources.

Chief Minister (CM) Mahmood Khan presided over a meeting to review the preparation and arrangements for participation in Dubai Expo. The attendees of the meeting were briefed about arrangements, proposed activities, and other matters related to Dubai Expo.
CM Khan, while speaking at the meeting, stated that Dubai Expo is an excellent opportunity to attract foreign investment and ordered the authorities concerned to showcase projects that are likely to attract investment.
As per the details shared, it was reported that 192 countries including Pakistan would participate in the expo. It was disclosed that the KP Pavilion will be set up on January 1, 2022, and will showcase different products, which includes textile, cottage, leather, handicraft, and other products.
Moreover, the attendees were informed that a conference on Swat Expressway, Buner Expressway, Dir Motorway, and Peshawar-Dera Ismail Khan (D.I. Khan) Motorway will be held on January 2, 2022. It was mentioned that the Special Economic Zones Investment Conference will be held on January 6 & 7. The conference will discuss the proposed Draban Special Economic Zone, Rashakai Special Economic Zone, Chitral Economic Zone, and Ghazi Economic Zone.

Additionally, the Mines and Minerals Investment Conference would be held on January 10-11, in which gemstones will be exhibited. On January 14 &15, a conference on tourism, culture, and archaeology will be held with a focus on Integrated Tourism Zones. It was also mentioned that another exhibition will be held on January 23, which will exhibit the initiatives under the Billion Tree Tsunami project.
