Peshawar: Provincial Senior Minister for Tourism, Culture, Museums, Archaeology and Sports Atif Khan has announced that the government would be organizing cultural festivals and other such events in a bid to promote the rich heritage of the province’s (ex-FATA) merged districts, according to news sources.
He made this statement while chairing a meeting with the officials of the Directorate of Culture. The director culture briefed the senior minister about the various plans and initiatives underway for the promotion of the culture and people of the tribal districts.

The minister directed the officials to accelerate the progress made on existing projects, and introduce new initiatives to promote the rich heritage of the tribal districts. He stressed that by doing this, the misconceptions and negativity associated with the area and its residents can be alleviated.

In addition, the minister assured that a grand cultural festival would also be organised in Peshawar in the near future, in order to showcase the culture and heritage of the merged tribal districts and some of the region’s bordering countries.
