Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Housing Department has announced to construct 1080 apartments in the Rehman Baba complex under the Naya Pakistan Housing Programme (NPHP) initiative, according to media reports published on Monday (December 27). This in addition to the 160 apartments that will be constructed in Warsak 1 project.

The decision was taken during the 27th Authority Meeting of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Housing Department presided over by KP Minister for Housing Dr Amjad Ali. During the meeting, it was agreed that 53 plots of the Dheri Zardad Charsadda Housing Scheme will also be included in NPHP.
As per the details shared, 49% of the apartments in both the housing projects will be reserved for the provincial government employees while 51% will be allocated for the people with reserved quotas for journalists, minorities, differently-abled, widows, and overseas Pakistanis.
Speaking at the occasion, Dr Ali said that special facilities for differently-abled individuals will be included in all the housing projects. He also revealed that the steps are being taken to construct low-cost houses in Abuha Swat.

Reportedly, the minister has directed the Board of Revenue officials to speed up the land identification process across KP to meet the demand for low-cost housing units.
