Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Mahmood Khan has said that the provincial government is mulling the reopening of essential businesses under new, anti-COVID-19, standard operating procedures (SOPs), a news source reported.

He expressed his views on the matter during a meeting with a delegation of traders in the city. The traders discussed matters pertaining to the reopening of certain businesses amid the coronavirus lockdown.
CM Mahmood Khan told the delegation that the government was formulating a viable strategy for the reopening of businesses. He added that the government was aware of the difficulties faced by the business community and assured that steps would be taken to mitigate the negative impacts of the COVID-19 breakout.

Meanwhile, the Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) requested the government to reopen the Pak-Afghan border for trade. The SCCI held a meeting on Tuesday and demanded that Torkham and Chaman borders should be opened round-the-clock to facilitate the traders.
