Peshawar: The Minerals Development Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has notified the launch of the ‘e-government Mining Cadastre Portal’ and mineral investors in the provinces to register themselves, according to a newspaper publication on August 13.

The Minerals Development Department KP has also announced that it will initiate registrations from August 15. The interested investors can register themselves by logging onto portal.kpminerals,gov.pk.
What are the benefits of the e-Government Mining Cadastre Portal for investors?
Following are the benefits of the e-Government Mining Cadastre Portal for investors:
- The investors will be able to access the KP Mineral e-Government Mining Cadastre Portal database.
- They will be able to easily search out free available areas.
- Also, the portal will have procedures taking place under the relent law during the life cycle of mineral titles i.e.:
- The initial application for grant of mineral title
- Checking the overlapping position of the applied-for areas – with already granted mineral titles
- Recording and implementation of the decision of the Licensing Authority
- Payment of fees/royalties
- The system will also enable the inventors to use online banking facilities for their outstanding dues (fees, taxes and royalties).
