Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has provided legal protection to the Sehat Sahulat Card programme to continue on a permanent basis, according to a news story published on April 28.

KP Chief Minister (CM) Mahmood Khan chaired a cabinet meeting with ministers and administrative secretaries. In the meeting, the CM approved the proposed legislation to grant legal cover to the Sehat Card programme. According to Special Assistant to Chief Minister on Information (SACM) Barrister Mohammad Ali Saif, the KP Universal Health Coverage Bill, 2022, will ensure to keep the said programme running and provide free health services.
Moreover, the meeting also approved the establishment of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Environmental Protection Council under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Environmental Act 2014. The council will deal with approvals of the environment-related policies, environmental standards, and implementation of environmental laws.

Furthermore, the cabinet approved the reorganisation of the existing two sub-divisions and the establishment of a new sub-division in the Bajaur tribal district. It was disclosed that the existing sub-division Khar will include Tehsils Barang and Khar whereas the sub-division Nawagai comprises Tehsils Wara, Nawagai, and Mamund. The new sub-division Utman Salarzai will include Tehsils Utmankhel and Salarzai.
