Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has launched a new Digital Motor Vehicle Registration and Universal Number Plate System under Vision 2030, as reported by a news source on September 17.

As revealed in the details, the meeting was led by Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur. Developed by the KP Information Technology Board (KPITB) and the KP Excise Department in just two months, the initiative brings key motor vehicle services online for greater accessibility and efficiency.
Key services include:
- Unique Registration Number and Universal Number Plate issuance
- New vehicle registration and universal plate applications
- Online token tax viewing and payments
- Vehicle registration from other provinces
- NADRA verification integration
- Online payments via Paymir

Additional features include ownership transfers, vehicle amendments, and a centralised database to prevent duplicate registrations. Starting October 1st, citizens can manage these services online through the Dastak application, enhancing convenience.
