Lahore: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government is working on the draft of a new industrial policy for providing incentives to investors, a news source quoted Special Assistant to KP Chief Minister (CM) on Industries Abdul Karim Khan.

Presiding over a meeting on Industrial Policy 2020 for KP, Karim said that the new policy would prove to be a milestone in the province’s sustainable economic development. KP Board of Investment & Trade (BoIT) CEO Hasan Daud Butt briefed the meeting on Industrial Policy 2020.
The special assistant emphasised the importance of developing and promoting Small & Medium Enterprises (SMEs) within the merged districts. He added that in light of the recommendations provided by investors, they should consult all stakeholders in this regard. He also discussed the revival of closed industrial units, and directed the members to establish new industrial estates in KP.

Karim stated that the new industrial policy would boost industrial development and investment opportunities in the province. He also directed the departments concerned to finalise the new policy after consulting with the stakeholders.
