Peshawar: The Sarhad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCI) on Tuesday urged the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government to announce a tax relief package for private advertisers working in the province, a news source reported. SCCI officials highlighted that these advertisers needed relief measures in light of financial losses incurred due to the coronavirus lockdown.

SCCI President Engineer Maqsood Anwar Pervaiz raised the issue of tax relief while meeting with a delegation of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Outdoor Advertisers Association (KPOAA). The members of the delegation highlighted the issues faced by the private advertisers in the province. In response, the SCCI president assured them of discussing the matter with the departments concerned.

Pervaiz stated that the SCCI had always prioritised the resolution of issues faced by the business community in KP. He added that the government should introduce business-friendly policies in consultation with SCCI and other stakeholders. He further stated that small businesses were the backbone of the country’s economy and should be facilitated.
