As per details, officials finalised preparations for a low-cost housing scheme designed to provide affordable housing solutions to underprivileged residents. The scheme will kick off with an investment of PKR 4 billion in its first phase. It includes provisions for interest-free loans up to PKR 1.5 million, specifically targeting those who own 5 marlas of land but lack the financial resources to build a home. The Housing Department has already commenced formal preparations for the project, ensuring that residents will have access to construction loans.
The repayment plan is designed to be manageable, with loans to be repaid in easy installments over a period of 10 years. This initiative aims to support those who own land but face financial challenges in home construction, providing a vital step towards improving living conditions and promoting equitable access to housing in the region.
