Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Minister for Tourism and Culture Atif Khan has announced his government’s decision to establish an eco-tourism village in Chitral’s Kalash Valley for the preservation and promotion of the area’s culture – a news source reported.
He expressed his views on the matter during a meeting with a UNESCO delegation, which was led by Vybak Janson. Additional Secretary (Tourism) Babar Khan and Director Archaeology Dr Abdul Samad Khan were all present at the occasion.

The minister told the delegation that the provincial government was making utmost efforts to develop Kalash Valley into an eco-friendly tourism destination. For this purpose, it will provide technical training, as well as funds, to the locals.
In response, the UNESCO delegation assured the minister of the institution’s complete financial support on the matter, and presented their plans on the development of eco-tourism in the province.
