Peshawar: The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government is expected to secure foreign aid between PKR 55 billion and PKR 60 billion in the upcoming fiscal year (FY) 2019-20, a news source reported. The provincial government has already allocated a primary budget of PKR 657 billion for FY 2019-20.

As per sources, the total outlay of the budget would not exceed PKR 850 billion for the upcoming fiscal year. From the primary budget, the provincial government will assign PKR 122 billion for the Annual Development Programme (ADP). The ADP includes provincial and district level projects.
Sources from the provincial finance ministry have reported that they expect to receive PKR 55 billion to PKR 60 billion from the international donors who operate international development programmes. They revealed that this will increase the development allocations up to PKR 182 billion. This will also lead to an increase in total size of the ADP as compared to last year.

Meanwhile, the KP government has allocated over PKR 53 billion for the existing expenses of the ex-FATA. Additionally, it has assigned PKR 33 billion for development projects in these areas—expanding the total layout to over PKR 86 billion.
