Mansehra: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government on Tuesday issued Zakat funds amounting to PKR 50 million to all provincial districts in a bid to offer financial assistance to deserving citizens enlisted with the Zakat committees, according to news sources.

Commenting on the matter, District Chairman Zakat Committee expressed hope that the government would release additional grant to provide assistance. He said that the money will be distributed among widows, orphans, and other deserving individuals.

Reportedly, these Zakat funds had been withheld for the last two years. A portion of this sum will be used for the payment of fees of deserving students interred in schools and colleges – as well as at Hazara University.
