Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has decided to collaborate with the Space & Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) for monitoring the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project through satellites, a news source reported. The provincial government plans to track vehicular movement on the BRT track.

For this purpose, the executive – together with the Peshawar Development Authority (PDA) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) – recently prepared a report. This draft details the PDA’s undertakings pertaining to the development of the BRT project.
Moreover, the government has asked SUPARCO to use satellite navigation systems for monitoring the said initiative. To facilitate this measure, the space agency, ADB, and PDA have identified 32 vantage points.

Previously, a spokesperson for the development authority stated that the authorities concerned were working round-the-clock to ensure early completion of the project. He added that the officials concerned planned to order the resumption of business activities in the BRT underpasses situated at Hashtnagri and Firdous in the coming weeks.
