Islamabad: Minister for Planning, Development, & Reform Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtiar has stated that the provincial government will prioritise the underdeveloped areas in Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP), a news source reported. He added that the socio-economic development of the merged districts of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) featured as one of the top priorities of the incumbent government.

Bakhtiar made these statements during his meeting with the Adviser to PM on Establishment Division Dr Shehzad Arbab. He stated that the government plans to take all possible steps to bring the newly merged tribal districts at par with the rest of the country. On the topic of the next phase of PSDP, he said that it was under process, and would include the development of the underprivileged areas as a priority; including the erstwhile Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA).

Bakhtiar further informed the advisor that the government will launch several infrastructure and socio-economic projects in the merged districts. Both officials also discussed the other development projects related to the said region during the meeting.
