Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has planned to expedite development work on small dams and water reservoirs in various districts to bring barren land under cultivation by providing proper irrigation channels.
KP Irrigation Minister Mr Mehmood Khan told reporters that the fertile land in plain areas of the province was shrinking and was affecting agricultural production. Mr Khan also added that the province had vast cultivable land, but a proper irrigation system was not available.
