Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government recently announced the launch of the ‘Workaround’ initiative – which is the country’s first Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) facility, a news source reported. As per the publication, the BPO facility will provide more than 700 jobs to the youth in the province.

Advisor on Science, Technology and information Technology (ST&IT) Ziaullah Khan Bangash addressed the inauguration ceremony and told the audience that digitalising KP was their priority, besides providing job opportunities to the youth.

To this effect, the department concerned has commenced with the work on the ‘Digital KP’ 2020 strategy and policy, he added. The official said that their department was developing Citizen Facilitation Centres (CFCs) which will offer basic facilities to people across the province. He further added that ‘Digital KP 2020’ would help digitalise all departments and improve their performance.

Special Assistant on Local Government Kamran Khan Bangash, Managing Director Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Technology Board (KPITB), Secretary ST & IT, representatives of World Bank, and other senior officials were all present on the occasion.
