Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has formulated a comprehensive strategy to offset the provincial impact of the novel coronavirus pandemic, a news source reported. To this effect, the government plans to initiate a number of executive steps, subsidies and packages to stimulate economic growth.

The decision was taken by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Task Force in a meeting on Tuesday. The Additional Chief Secretary of KP presided over the meeting.
The meeting members reviewed the impact of the lockdown, at a provincial level and discussed various plans for the purpose. They further vowed to improve counter-efforts against the prevailing pandemic.

The government’s strategy includes efforts to maintain supply chain of necessities and providing assistance to keep up the household income. It will particularly focus on four labour categories including 3.04 million daily wagers, 1.4 million paid workers by piecemeal rate or per the work performed, 0.07 million paid non-family apprentices and 0.15 million street vendors.
