Peshawar: The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) inaugurated the first-ever mobile application in order to facilitate tourism in the province on Wednesday, according to a news report. This is the first of many projects underway for the promotion of tourism in KP, as confirmed by KP Senior Minister for Sports, Tourism, Archaeology, Culture, Museums and Youth Affairs Atif Khan.

The mobile application was launched by Atif Khan, along with an official logo for the department of tourism as well as special buses for visitors to the province. A short film on local tourist resorts was screened afterwards.
The goal of the provincial government is to attract 10 million foreign tourists and earn USD 10 billion as revenue in an attempt to drastically boost the sector, according to news sources.

National Tourism Board Chairman and the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Overseas Pakistanis Zulfi Bukhari commended the initiative and called it a big step towards the promotion of tourism.
