The apex court further stated that the provincial executive should make efforts for preservation and protection of state-owned properties. Justice Qazi Faez Isa authored this judgment in a property dispute matter involving an individual and the Peshawar Municipal Corporation.
According to the court, these records should contain all the requisite entries categorised under the concerned local government in the revenue/land record. The entries will mention the area, abutment, coordinates and other state-owned properties’ particulars.

The copies of these records (pertaining to every local government’s properties) should be held at a centralised location by the office of the secretary of Local Government, Election and Rural Development Department (KP) in electronic format.
The court was displeased with the observation that both the Peshawar Municipal Corporation and the City District Government had failed to comply with requisite statutory provisions in their tenure.
