Mansehra: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has approved the development of a medical college for Mansehra city, a news source reported. The proposed facility will be established in an abandoned multi-storey building situated near Ghazikot Townshi. The building is located in a relatively developed area of the city and was previously used by an elementary college for its operations.

MPA Babar Saleem Swati, accompanied by Tehsil Nazim Umar Farooq Tanoli, told reporters that Chief Minister Mahmood Khan recently give a formal approval to this effect after holding consultations with the Director General Healthcare. He announced that the college would be affiliated with the King Abdullah Teaching Hospital; the only tertiary care facility in the city.

The establishment of a college was a dream of the locals, Swati said. This initiative will improve healthcare practice in the Hazara division, as well as in Gilgit-Baltistan (G-B) and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
