Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has approved the creation of 11 new tourism zones in the province, a news source reported. The provincial government would ensure the provision of international-standard amenities in these zones for the tourists.

During the first phase of the project, KP government would form new touristic zones in Chitral, Mansehra, and Swat, for which it has already identified the sites. Additionally, the provincial government would ensure the construction of roads leading to the existing tourist spots. For this purpose, it has reserved a budget worth PKR 5 billion.
Provincial Minister for Tourism Muhammad Atif Khan revealed these details during his meeting with a representatives of World Bank (WB). During the meeting, they discussed the issues of creating new tourism zones and construction of roads towards existing ones in detail.

In response, the WB delegation assured the provincial minister of all possible cooperation for the purpose of promoting tourism in the province.
