Mansehra: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has allocated funds worth PKR 6 billion for the construction of Torghar Bridge, a news source reported. This facility is expected to connect Peshawar with the tribal areas of Maneshra district following its completion.

District Development Committee Chairman and Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) Laiq Mohammad Khan on Tuesday stated that the Torghar Bridge would be built over the Indus River at Kotkay area. He said that the bridge would eliminate travelling problems in the district.

He further stated that the bridge would connect Judbah with Mera Madakheil and Hassanzai as the Indus River slices these areas apart. Presently, the people of Hassanzai and Mera Maddakheil travel to district headquarters Judbah through ferryboats after a five-hour-long journey. He said that the bridge would unveil new opportunities and usher prosperity for the people of the district.
