Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) cabinet has approved a budget outlay amounting to PKR 657 billion for the (fiscal year) FY2019-20, a news source reported.

Minister for Information Shaukat Yousafzai stated during a press briefing that the provincial government plans to make its budget announcement on June 13.
He said that the provincial government wants to provide relief to this masses in its budget for FY2019-20. For this purpose, the officials have introduced changes in the taxes framework for those taxes which fall under the ambit of the provincial government.
Previously, KP Finance Minister had briefed the cabinet members on the salient features of the upcoming budget. He said that the finance department had proposed a budget outlay of PKR 657.251 billion.

The finance minister also detailed the new taxes which will be introduced, as well as measures to provide relief to the public under the property tax concession programme.
