Peshawar: The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has provided two mobile water quality testing laboratories to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Local Government (LG) Department, a news source reported.

During the ceremony held on Thursday, LG Minister Shahram Tarakai stated that it was a duty of the authorities concerned to ensure the provision of clean drinking water for the entire province.
As per government officials, these mobile laboratory facilities were capable of functioning in different areas of the province. The LG Department would utilise the services of the mobile laboratories in areas – including Shangla, Chitral, and Swat areas – most affected by floods or other natural disasters.

Recently, the Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) approved 14 development projects worth PKR 10.374 billion for the province. These initiatives included clean drinking water schemes, along with the construction of the Neeli Tangi Weir and Bada Khel Weir water projects in the Khyber district.
