Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has announced its decision to finalise the master plan for the Pakistan Digital City in October, a news source reported on August 17. According to an Arab News report, the project is expected to create 30,000 jobs.

According to the details revealed, the project would be located in the Haripur District of KP. The report indicated that the provincial government had allocated 4.5 hectares of land for the project. It added that it intended to procure more land for the project’s expansion and lease it to private investors.
The Pakistan Digital City will comprise technology incubators, electronics manufacturers, software houses, and manufacturers of computer and communications equipment. The Arab News report said that the project would be a digital hub aimed at helping thousands of Pakistani IT and computer science graduates in jobs searches.

The KP government had launched its ‘Digital KP’ policy in 2018 to provide employment opportunities to the country’s youth.
