Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Economic Zones Development and Management Company (KP-EZDMC) has issued a Letter of Intent (LOI) to InfraCo Asia for completing a feasibility study to solarise the economic zones in the province, according to news published on February 24.

The news source mentioned that the issuance of an LOI indicates the commitment of InfraCo Asia and KP to collaborate for exploring the potential of solar energy and increasing its usage in the economic zones. As per the details, the solarisation of the economic zones includes the integration of solar power into the energy mix of the zones in a bid to provide a cost-effective and quick source of energy.

Moreover, the solarisation of economic zones will help in reducing the overall business cost since the cost of energy has a vital role to play in the cost of production. The event was attended by KP Chief Secretary Imdadullah Bosal, KP-EZDMC Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), British High Commission Pakistan Development Director, and team lead of Sustainable Employment and Economic Development (SEED).
