Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) excise department and Punjab Urban Unit has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to expand the tax rate in the province under which the latter will perform a GIS mapping surveys for the former – a news source reported on November 3.

According to the details, the MOU was signed by KP Director General Fayyaz Ali Shah and Punjab Urban Unit Representative Naveed Hassan and, as per the details of the agreement, Punjab Urban Unit will perform GIS mapping for Mansehra.

KP excise department, after introducing GIS-based property taxation system in Peshawar is now also introducing the same in Nowshera, Mardan and Abbottabad. Not only will the development help with expanding the tax net it will also help resolve public complaints and transfer the property taxation system to digital. The rating areas will also be digitized and linked to the GIS system.
