Peshawar: Chief Minister (CM) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Mahmood Khan on Tuesday revealed in a meeting that the emergency ‘Rescue 1122’ service was in the process of being extended to all tehsils of the newly merged districts, according to news sources.

As part of the initiative, rescue stations are being established in 15 tehsils of the tribal districts at a total estimated cost of PKR 2,450 million. The Rescue 1122 stations established in Bara, Ghalanai, Jamrud, and Khar have already become operational, while the construction work on Rescue Stations in the tehsils of Yaka Ghund, Kalai, Miran Shah, Nawogai, Razmak, Ladda, Wana, and Sadda has been launched. Moreover, the land acquisition process for the development of rescue services in Ghalju and Landikotal is also in progress.

The session was held to review the status of various development projects initiated by the Relief & Rehabilitation Department in the merged districts under the Accelerated Implementation Programme.
The meeting was informed that over 1,800 new employment vacancies had been created on account of this expansion of the Rescue 1122 service. Of this total, some 1,193 positions have already been already; with written tests scheduled for the remaining openings.
During the proceedings, the CM directed the officials concerned to complete the developmental projects pertaining to the newly-merged districts within their communicated timelines.
