Peshawar: Chief Minister (CM) Mahmood Khan on Thursday (January 27) stated that the provincial government is planning to launch more development schemes for the Upper Dir District, according to media reports.

CM Khan shared this information while talking to the jirga of Paindakhel and Sultankhel tribes of the district. The Member National Assembly (MNA) Upper Dir Sibghatullah was also present in this meeting. The jirga elders briefed the CM on the problems of the public and discussed matters pertaining to the overall development of the district.
Reportedly, the chief minister stated that the government was spending on different sectors including education, communications, health, and tourism. He went on to say that more development projects will be launched in Upper Dir. The minister mentioned that government will resolve the public issues one by one.

Moreover, CM Khan informed the delegated that expression of interest for the construction of Dir Motorway Phase I has been issued. He expects the work to commence soon. According to the details, the project will be extended to Upper Dir and Chitral in the next phase.
