This letter stated that an exercise was required to digitise land records for state lands throughout the province using the Geographical Information System (GIS). The PMRU also revealed that a pro forma in this regard had previously been shared with the respective officials.
The planning and development department has already deputed GIS analysts to all districts to help the administration with this digitisation. The letter further added that revenue staff and GIS analysts should collect geo-coordinates (polygon) in the geo database of all government lands in the various districts, and then share them with the PMRU.
