Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Mahmood Khan on Tuesday (July 26) reviewed the progress of various mega development projects underway across the province, news sources reported. The projects include road infrastructure development initiatives, medical/healthcare facilities, and agricultural programmes.

The meeting, according to reports, was held in Peshawar and assessed the progress of several development initiatives. The following information was shared during the meeting:
● The government has given administrative approval to the 30-kilometre-long Dir Motorway Project and will soon enact Section IV of the Land Acquisition Act to acquire land for the project.
● A work order for the Patrak-Thall-Kumrat Road Project will be issued within the next month and a half to improve connectivity to the Kumrat Valley.
● The Taimergarah Medical College has been completed, with classes starting in the next academic year.
● PC-I for the Timergarah Water Supply Scheme has also been approved by the Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) and submitted to the Planning Commission of Pakistan for final approval.
● The Shakardara section of the Shakardara Water Supply Scheme is also expected to be completed by December of this year.

CM Mahmood also gave directions on the occasion to begin physical work on the 80-kilometre-long Swat Motorway Phase-II Project within a week. The PKR 58 billion project would connect Chakdara Interchange to Fatehpur Sikri and is planned to be completed through Public Private Partnership (PPP).
