Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Mahmood Khan has issued directives to the officials concerned to launch the civil works for all projects planned under the provincial government’s ‘Peshawar Revival Plan’ on an immediate basis, a news source reported on September 21.

He expressed his views on the matter while chairing a meeting to review the Peshawar Revival Plan projects. He stressed the need to eliminate any obstacles hindering the plan’s implementation and provided his approval to the proposed shifting of the city’s electric system to the underground network; asking the departments concerned to take up the matter with the Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO).

The meeting was informed that under the said initiative, orders had been issued to enhance and beautify roads from ‘Bacha Khan Chowk to Charsadda Bus Terminal, Dalazak Road from Bacha Khan Chowk to Ring Road, Bhani Mari Road from Chongi Chowk to Ramdas and the circular road from Nishterabad to Ramdas Chowk’ – with civil work expected to begin from October.
Moreover, it was revealed that work on the new bus stand for the city will also be initiated in the coming month and that land acquisition for the construction of Ring Road Northern Section (Warsak road to Nasir Bagh) was currently underway. The CM directed the authorities concerned to implement a ‘feasible financial’ mode for the ring road project.
