Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Mahmood Khan on Thursday (October 07) announced various road infrastructure and development projects worth billions of rupees in the province, news sources reported.

As per reports, CM Mehmood visited the lower Dir area of KP and announced several uplift initiatives like road construction, educational institutes, health cards and food cards, and special packages for the merged districts. The following is a breakdown of the announced projects:
- Allocation of PKR 1 billion for various construction projects in each Dir constituencies
- Development of Chashma Right Bank Lift Canal project to irrigate the barren lands of southern districts
- Establishment of a cadet college, greater water supply scheme for Timargarah and a sports complex
- PKR 5 billion has been set aside for the Gopalam Irrigation Scheme
- PKR 30 billion for the development work and infrastructure in the Lower Dir area
- PKR 237 billion has been announced for the construction of the 30-kilometre-long Chakdara-Dir Motorway project
- Construction of 45 Kilometer-long Thal-Patrak-Kumrat road and roads in Bin Shahi, Laram, Jaz Banda to promote tourism

Moreover, CM Khan also said that the government has established 7 Special Economic Zones (SEZs) in various parts of the province and more of the projects will follow the suit.
