Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Mahmood Khan on Tuesday issued directions for the concerned departments to initiate the process for consultancy, land acquisition, and engineering design for the Peshawar Model Town Project.

The CM gave these orders while chairing a meeting at the CM House, where he was briefed about the salient features of the proposed initiative. According to the details revealed, Peshawar Model Town will feature 23 zones spanning over 180,000 acres of land. The civil works of the project will be executed in May 2021.
Moreover, the CM was informed that the feasibility study process and the identification of a suitable project site have been completed. According to reports, about 81,000 residential plots of various sizes would be made available in the Peshawar Model Town – along with educational, medical and sports complexes and other allied facilities. It was also highlighted that a separate portion would be dedicated to the media enclave and public offices as well.

The project land has been divided to reserve 50% for residential purposes, 5% for the commercial and parking purposes, 12% for the green spaces and landscaping, 23% for the roads and 8% for the public structures – while the remaining land will be dedicated for civic amenities like graveyard etc.
Further, the CM stated that the project development should be executed within the communicated timeline.
