Karak: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister (CM) Mahmood Khan on Tuesday performed the groundbreaking of Makh Banda Dam project, according to a news report published on January 27. The initiative is expected to be completed in three years at a cost of PKR 814 million.
The Makh Banda Dam project is expected to bring some 725 acres of land under cultivation following completion. In addition to the dam, the CM inaugurated the rehabilitation work on a 38-kilometre-long road link between Banda Daud Shah and Gurguri. The road project is expected to be completed in two years at an estimated cost of PKR 587 million.

Moreover, the chief minister announced a PKR 2 billion package for the provision of gas in the Karak District. It was also revealed that the oil and gas royalty funds will be utilised for the development of the said district.
CM Khan also reviewed the development projects currently underway in Karak. These uplift schemes include the dualisation of Bannu Road and the provision of potable water from Lawaghar Dam to Karak city.
