Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Mahmood Khan has given a three-day deadline to the authorities concerned to present a plan on the Peshawar Safe City project, a news source reported. As per the CM, this blueprint would help the authorities concerned to commence with the development work on the project.

CM Khan instructed the officers concerned to address the legal obligations impeding the launch of the project. The CM gave the directives while presiding over a meeting held with important officials including KP Chief Secretary Saleem Khan and Police Chief Dr Mohammad Naeem Khan, who briefed the chief minister on the proposed initiative.

Under this project, thousands of close circuit cameras will be installed across the provincial capital. Envisaged as a milestone project to ensure effective e-governance, the Safe City project will be monitored from divisional headquarters in the province.
It comprises four components: integrated emergency response system, intelligent traffic management system, integrated intelligent counter surveillance, and electronic evidence management system, according to a statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Office.
